Incentives

Perfect Attendance Incentive

Defined as reporting to work as scheduled and remaining at work the entire day, and/or not using personal or sick time during the predetermined period (usually a calendar month). The additional sick day(s) will be added the following school year.

TIPP

The Teacher Incentive Pay Program is for all employees. When a school improves a letter grade during the school year, incentive pay will be paid in December following the release of official test score data from MDE. There are various monetary payouts.

Math and Science Teacher Incentive

The Columbus Municipal School District developed the Mathematics and Science Signing Bonus to aid in recruiting and retaining talented mathematics and science educators. A one-time, $3,500 payment is provided to our newly hired educators who teach mathematics and/or science courses the entire instructional day. This payment is in addition to the base salary and any other compensation the educator is eligible to receive. We want to be the employer of choice and compensation is often a factor when people choose where to work. More importantly, we want to attract and retain educators that are committed and will positively impact student achievement.
